PhD researcher in philosophy at the University of Leeds
Nick Tasker

I am a PhD student and member of the Nature of Representation research group, headed by Professor Robbie Williams, and funded by the European Research Council.
My research focusses on the philosophy of generative linguistics, the nature of language and linguistic expressions and the notion of mental representation in cognitive science. I also like thinking about scientific realism, social kinds and slurs.
I did my first degree in philosophy at Sheffield, then the B.Phil at Oxford (a two year Master's). After that came a second Master's degree - this time in linguistics - from Paris Diderot, before moving to Leeds in 2013.
